New Projects

We’re thrilled to announce that the Apple TV+ documentary, “The War for Football”, has won two Emmy Awards, including Best Documentary! This gripping four-part series traces the rise and fall of the UEFA Soccer Super League.

The series saw collaboration with Sebastian Arocha Morton, who served as the Electronic Music Producer, Programmer, and Session Musician, working in tandem with composer Elik Alvarez and the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. The project was helmed by three-time Emmy winner Jeff Zimbalist, celebrated for his works such as Pele, The Line, and Favela Rising. To get a peek at this exhilarating series, please follow the link below to view the trailer. It is currently streaming on Apple TV+.

We are proud to announce that the highly anticipated thriller “City of Dreams” is complete. This movie features the Oscar-nominated producers of Argentina, 1985 and Roma and stars the talented Golden Globe nominee Diego Calva (Babylon), as well as Latin music legend Luis Fonsi. Sebastian Arocha Morton collaborated with renowned composers Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Man on Fire) and Bennett Salvay (Friday Night Lights), providing electronic music, sound design, and final mixing for the film. The movie is set to release this summer in theaters worldwide by Roadside Attractions. We also produced and recorded the music for the official trailer.

Seth McFarlane’s The Orville Season 2 is now available. The show includes some electronic tracks from ROCAsound, as well as dramatic underscore programming by Sebastian Arocha Morton, supporting John Debney’s epic orchestral music. This has been an amazing experience, as it is one of the few shows that still record a full live orchestra every week at the Fox Studios Newman Stage in Los Angeles.

On the record side, we just received news that the single “Foolish” from Australian electro-pop group Alpine has officially reached RIAA Gold status. Sebastian Arocha Morton remixed the single for the official release, and the track was well supported by KCRW’s Raul Campos as well as BBC and Triple J radio. We’re very proud of this one.

We are proud to share that Warner Records’ platinum artist Phora has released the song “What I Like” with co-writing and co-production credits from us. Phora’s album, which features guest appearances by 6lack, J.Cole, and Logic, is already climbing the charts. Our work with the Soultronica duo The Steoples for the legendary Stone’s Throw Records is also available on all platforms. Sebastian co-wrote and mixed the single “In the Dance”. Additionally, we have released two singles on all platforms: “Waiting for You” and “Night Vision”. Recorded during the same sessions as our Neon EP, these two tracks combine our signature cinematic and electronic textures with Vocoder performances by Sebastian Arocha Morton. Furthermore, “Night Vision” will be featured on an extraordinary project during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Please see the links below for more information.

The Avengers show is now complete! This epic new indoor and outdoor show is receiving the ROCAsound treatment, with two shows spanning more than 35 minutes of cinematic music recorded at Abbey Road Studios. It is the biggest Marvel ride yet, featuring themes from The Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and Guardians of the Galaxy. The score combines powerful modular synths and beats with a 70-piece full orchestra, recorded at Studio 1 by the great Simon Rhodes (Avatar, Skyfall, Spectre). See the press release in the links below.

Studio work has been completed on the latest edition of the popular video game franchise, EA Sports: Madden, produced by Electronic Arts. The game features a combination of electronic music and a 70-piece orchestra recorded at Ocean Way Nashville, promising an amazing score. Additionally, production has just wrapped up on the Golden Globe-nominated show, Mr. Robot, starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater. This season incorporates some cool ’80s classic synth work. Furthermore, Sebastian Arocha Morton has been writing for Young Sheldon, a new hit show on CBS created by the Big Bang Theory’s Chuck Lorre. The show debuted at #1 on the network.

Now available for rent is the new Jet Li movie, League of Gods, which debuted at #1 in China, grossing over $50 million in its opening weekend. Sebastian Arocha Morton co-wrote and produced the theme song, “Wings of Destiny”, sung by acclaimed Taiwanese artist Jam Hsiao. The song is already a #1 radio hit throughout Asia. He also co-wrote the score in another collaboration with John Debney, recorded at Ocean Way Nashville with a 70-piece orchestra. The movie is distributed by Sony Pictures in the US.

Marvel, Spongebob and NBC Shows

It has been a busy time at ROCAsound! Disneyworld Hong Kong recently opened the new Marvel Universe Land which features the Iron Man Experience. This new section of the park is dedicated to all things Iron Man and includes a magnificent epic orchestra recorded at Abbey Road by Simon Rhodes, the signature electronic production of ROCAsound, and new themes from John Debney. According to Entertainment Weekly magazine, this show is blowing minds! Check out the link below for a preview of the spectacular scope of this show. Also, keep an eye out for a new Marvel Avengers at Disneyland Paris later this year.

Our newly revamped Disney World of Color laser show at Disney California Adventure theme park is still going strong. The show was reinvented for Disney’s 60th Anniversary in July with updated visuals, lasers, and music. Sebastian Arocha Morton contributed electronic production, synths, and overdubs to John Debney’s 26-minute epic opus. A modern mix of Marvel, Classic Disney, Twilight Zone, and Christophe Beck’s Frozen score was recorded by a 90-piece orchestra and choir at Abbey Road Studios in London in February. It’s a spectacular experience!

Spongebob: Sponge Out of Water claimed the #1 spot at the box office with a $161 million haul. It was a pleasure to once again work with John Debney on the electronic duties for the score. In the TV world, we are currently scoring a 13-episode season of American Odyssey, NBC’s newest hit Drama starring Anna Friel, Peter Facinelli, and Sarah Wynter. We are also working on new projects for Despicable Me 3, Sony Pictures’ pilot Game of Silence, and a follow-up EP to Themes from Elysium.

The Themes from Elysium EP is now available worldwide. This album features three of the main themes from the sci-fi action Korean CGI hit movie Elysium, which was scored by Sebastian Arocha Morton for BigFilm Korea. The theatrical release won several Jury Awards at major Asian Film Festivals. The selected score was mixed and mastered at Bernie Grundman, Los Angeles. Check out the iTunes link below.
